THE COCONUT MANSION

The Coconut Mansion is an indigenous home that interprets and transforms the coconut material into high-end works of art.

The architecture combines the romance of Meditteranean arches with the exotic feel of the tropics. The Coconut Mansion is designed in a series of seven (7) Pavilions. The seven (7) Pavilions represents the seven (7) deep forms of the coconut namely: the sphere (kabilugan), staff (tungkod), frond (palapa), flange (gilid or libis), filament (himaymay), flesh(laman) and oil (lana).

The interiors focuses on tropical culture and crafts. It showcases Philippine furniture made of coconut materials . Some coconut materials are mixed with other indigenous natural materials such as abaca, rattan, bamboo and capiz shells. The house showcases Coconut Republic’s high-end collection of coconut crafts and other indigenous handicrafts made in the Philippines from the broad entrances to the cathedral windows, high ceilings lined with delicate anahaw palm leaves, coconut lamps, wall lights, lamp shades, dining tables, coffee tables, chest of drawers, armoires, dividers, mirrors, cushions, beds, chairs, occassional furniture and other decorative accessories such as picture frames, candle holders, window blinds, etc.

The interiors reflects a peaceful island. It maintains a quiet and wellness atmosphere. The facilities include a masters suite, guest rooms, library, kitchen, dining room, living room, a home theatre, family room, main lobby, and a private terrace.

At night, the home comes alive as the openness of the house brings the inside-out, where one can enjoy the sunset as the sky paints a picturesque image of life. The house overlooks a picturesque coastline dotted with swaying coconut trees.

Not only is the Coconut Mansion a showcase of Filipino craftmanship and origination but it truly expresses that the Coconut triumphs as the Tree of Life. The major source of inspiration and raw material of the design forms, elements and decorative ornaments throughout the whole house is from the coconut’s roots to its trunk, its bark, fruit, flower and shell.
