CAFÉ de COCONUT

Dating from 1802, the term café comes from the French 'café (meaning "coffee", or "coffee house") and the Italian "caffe'" (also meaning "coffee"). In 1839, "café teria" had been copied in American English from Mexican Spanish to indicate a coffee-store. But the "café" has been reinvented many times over the centuries.

Coconut Republic Museum presents its own unique version of Café de Coconut.

Coconut Republic Museum's Café de Coconut is historically important in that it heralded a new authentic coconut-inspired architecture and design. Coconut is an environmentally - intelligent material that is now causing a stir with forward-thinking designers.

Experience true Coconut Culture by dining in our café's coconut-inspired interiors as well as tasting our Asian fusion coconut cuisine. We present a new vibrancy with the use of natural coconut materials mixed with other indigenous materials such as bamboo, rattan, abaca and capiz shells.

The come-back of the coconut has created new tastes and trends.

In our café, you can check-out our two-toned classic coconut floor and wall tiles; our chairs are made of rattan and inlaid with natural coconut shells. Our table tops are made of resin inlaid with natural coconut twigs; Our sconce and floor lamps are made with natural coconut shells which are individually hand-crafted with intricate designs. Our bread baskets, serving trays and plate chargers are made with authentic coconut twigs. Our spoons, forks, knives have natural coconut handles. Our doors are intricately hand-crafted and made with natural cut-out coconut shells combined with sea shells. The café's interior decorations and accessories are uniquely hand-crafted out of coconut-based products and materials with a modern and high-end look and feel.
